Why I Started My Blog

This is a personal project that I wanted to nurture and grow. It is something I wanted to do for a long time. It was not in a blog form but I knew that I always wanted to write in a way. In one of my blog posts, I wrote about why everyone needed to start a personal project, something you can proudly refer to as your own. For personal reasons, it is very rewarding getting something that belongs to you.
Of all the projects to choose from, I chose to start a blog because I wanted to write. Year in and year out, you may find so many people running into blogging and at the same time they are running out of the blogging industry. For just these past months of my blogging journey, I have come to embrace the fact that it is not easy to start and continue a blog, you have to constantly look and search for new topics that people are interested in so that you can pull readers to your blog.
The fact that I started this blog as something that I always wanted to have is what is keeping me motivated to continue doing what I love doing. I started off as an article writer for a blogger and so I know a little about what goes into writing and some of the risks involved in writing, nonetheless, my reasons kept me rowing my boat to starting this blog. I can heartily say that this blog has changed my life in a lot of ways, but that will be saved for another day.
I started this blog for a number of reasons:
To Share My Thoughts
Sharing my thought on a particular subject is an exciting thing to me but as most people know me, you will not see me arguing or starting up a conversation with people. I prefer to say the least and hold my thoughts to myself. That may explain why I wrote a lot in my diaries and tiny jotters that were designed by me.
I saw blogging as a safe space to share my insights with readers and audiences, I saw it as a platform to answer questions and to help people relate with other people. Sharing my insight on a particular subject, my experiences, and on other subjects is a great way to help others.
Personal Fulfillment
I started my blog as a way of fulfilling my dreams. As I continue to write and publish posts on my blog, I found out that I enjoy the process of creating content and engaging with my readers. I feel a sense of accomplishment as I reach milestones, such as hitting a certain number of subscribers or receiving positive feedback on my writing.
Remember that personal fulfillment is a journey, not a destination. It's important to set realistic goals for your blog and to focus on the process of creating content, rather than just the result. By staying true to yourself and writing about topics that are meaningful to you, you'll be more likely to find personal fulfillment through your blog as well
A Side Hustle
This is one of the reasons I started my blog, but do not perceive it as a very rosy and straightforward thing. I know most readers were expecting to see it as the face point, well, it is part but it is not the entire force for my rationale of starting this blog.
As a budding blogger, I can attest and say that I have not earned anything yet from the blog since I started two months ago and that is a fact. That does not mean I will never get something, it takes time, consistency, and authenticity to get your work out there and I must say, this blog is doing good so far. For me, I would say my problem with blogging is that sometimes I am not inspired to write anything, nonetheless, I remember the reason I started and that alone pushes me to get and do something.
Through Google ads, affiliate marketing, and sponsored posts, I can monetize this blog and make it a very successful side hustle.
An Avenue To Grow In The Writing Space
One best thing about blogging is that you don’t have to start off as a perfect person or an expert, that is why I keep on learning and improving my skills. I take a lot of inspiration from the stories of other bloggers and how they started. Obviously, you cannot start off fresh and have all the knowledge there is about it. So I keep exploring other writing skills and I keep learning other ways that my writing and blogging skills can grow.
Get To explore The Many Opportunities that come with blogging
What most people have not discovered about life is that, whatever opportunity is thrown at you, there are other following opportunities that have to be discovered as well, which means that it lies in your hands to try and dig into the other chances that accompany a particular opportunity.
Blogging for me has made me open to many related skills that I have to learn like graphic designing, IT, social media marketing, and others. So I don’t see blogging as just blogging, I see it as a school to discover other skills and in line with that, expand my skills.
Starting a personal project was part of the list of things I wanted to achieve last year, however, it was not successful, but early this year, I was able to launch it. There is a lot of work that has to be done on it, so stay tuned, subscribe for my newsletter and receive update on my writing journey.
