Sarkodie Biography
Sarkodie was born on July 10, 1988, the fourth of his family's five kids. Prior to his parents moving to Tema, where he began attending school, he was raised in Koforidua. After graduating from Tema Methodist Day Senior High School, he went on to IPMC and received a degree in graphic design.
As a participant in the well-known rap competition Kasahare Level hosted by Adom FM, Sarkodie launched his music career as an underground rapper. When competing in the aforementioned tournament, he crossed paths with Duncan Williams, his former manager at Duncwills Entertainment. A seasoned record producer named Hammer of The Last Two was introduced to him by musicians Edem and Castro, whom he also met. Hammer permitted Sarkodie to record two songs on Edem's debut album Volta Regime because he liked the way the rapper delivered his bars.

Sarkodie established The Sarkodie Foundation, a nonprofit organization, on July 13, 2013, to help disadvantaged kids. He gave generously to the Kasoa Royal Seed Home Orphanage. On December 25, 2014, The Foundation launched a campaign called "Feed the Kids" in Tema, Ghana, where they distributed bags of rice, yogurt, and beverage cans to thousands of children. They also distributed helmets, water bottles, school bags, and other supplies. The campaign was also supported by Roshi Motman, the CEO of Tigo Telecommunications, who was there.
