Do you, I will do me
Why do you stare when I do things differently? Why does it shock you when I take a different path that is far from yours? Do you not know that we sprout from different grounds and seeds? Do you, I will do me.
You raise your browse when I say I love being indoors the whole day, you look at me in disgust when I say I'd rather drown in the pages of a book than go partying. Give me a "why" and I will spew my one-sentence reason. Do you, I will do me.
Why do you think I should do what you do and like what you like and use the same approach as you did? My way is working perfectly for me too, do you know that? Why must we fit into the mold set forth? You like reggae, I like RnB. Do you, I will do me.
You like the noise, I find solace in the quiet of my mind,
I am not lonely as perceived by you, While you chase the glimmer of fleeting lights, I find treasure in the depths of starry nights. Ask me why I like being in the dark. It is peaceful, beautiful and calm.
The world may question, may cast your gaze, yet, I walk my path, unswayed by your craze. If one day I decide the craze, do you, I will do me.
Why?, I am not bound by your expectations, Nor confined to your preconceived notions. We bloom differently, Do you, I will do me, resolutely and freely.
Sometimes, I am also surprised when you question why I do what I do the way I do it. It is not for you to understand everything, Do you, I promise to do me.
