"You can't be ambitious and Scared"

These are the words from someone whilst talking with him. He added "You care too much about what people would think? well, good luck pleasing them and cheers to doing a disservice to yourself. People ogle and talk all the time, it is in their nature, do not bat an eye to that". Do you, close your eyes and do what you want to do, if you fail, do it again, that is life. These have stuck with me since and have been very instrumental in my life decisions since that day.

It struck me that indeed life is a binary system, there are two possible states and the rate at which one happens is of high possibility. And if we are to apply this into our lives, it means that:

  • Choices: Life is full of choices, and each decision can be seen as a binary option (e.g., left or right, yes or no).
  • Outcomes: Events in life can have binary outcomes (e.g., success or failure, life or death).
  • Perspectives: Life can be viewed as a series of binary perspectives (e.g., good or bad, happy or sad

I learned that success is not about conforming to others' standards but about staying authentic to myself. I realized that we are unique individuals, and what works for one person might not work for another. The world is huge, yet it's like a speck, and so are we - small but significant, fragile yet resilient, connected yet isolated and we have different ways of life and different destinations and different perspectives. there are people who will not agree with what I am even saying right now in this piece and it is fine to do that. This paradox reminds us to appreciate the beauty and complexity of our existence while humbling us to the vast mysteries beyond our reach.

Embrace Advice:

It is okay to seek wisdom from others, You cannot know it all no mater how well-read you are or how old you are, but don't be afraid to discard what doesn't resonate with you. Be open-minded, but also trust your instincts and have a limit to what you digest, there can be a pool of sense in someone's words and in there too, you can find opinions that you do not subscribe to . Remember, advice is meant to guide, not dictate.

Know What You Want:

Identify your desire and become stingy with it. Dedicate tons of time doing what you think will yield the best outcome you want to harvest. Become selfish with your time, your goals and aspirations and generally what you want in life. I silently stopped being a people pleaser, yet I felt I did it late. I loved my time, yet I dedicated an amount of it sharing it with people, trying to do what others dictated for me until I got to an aha! moment.

It is not a crime to prioritize your needs and desires, as a matter of fact, God said "Love your neighbor as yourself" he did not say, love your neighbor more than yourself. You should also know that when you have an amount of love for yourself, then you can give surplus to your neighbor. Therefore, do not compromise on what matters most to you. Clarity on what you want will help you stay focused and motivated.

Be Intentional About Your Growth:

And I mean, intentional with everything that involves your growth, personally and professionally. Invest in yourself, your skills, and your well-being. Set goals and work towards them. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. Be proactive, not passive, in your personal and professional development.

It Will Be Tough and Lonely, But Keep Going:

The path to success is rarely easy. There will be setbacks, failures, and moments of doubt. But don't give up. Draw strength from your why and keep moving forward, even when it feels impossible. Remember Asake's song, "it is lonely at the top" but it is necessary.

Not Everyone Will See Your Way, But Persist:

Not everyone will understand your vision, goals, or methods. But that's okay. Stay true to yourself and your purpose. Keep pushing forward, even when others don't see the sense in it. Your persistence will pay off in the end.

Let me know what you think by commenting.

Have a great Weekend!!!
