Whenever George Orwell is mentioned, my mind takes me to this book because it was the first novel my Dad bought for me. I grew up with books around me but he hand-picked this book for me and even though I was very young, I still remember the storyline and how inspiring it was.

This Fable ridicules the behaviour of those who find themselves in authority precisely corruption and abuse of power.

Through the use of animal characters and satire, Orwell highlights the dangers of political and ideological propaganda and the importance of critical thinking. The book is both engaging and insightful, with a message that is still relevant today.

This book is a good pick because it will give you something to ponder and critically analyse in your own society even though this was to exhume the rot that existed in Russian Politics. The use of Animals also makes it a bit humorous.

When it comes to becoming a beginning reader, this is another book by a Ghanaian that is recommended. This reed may cause you to re-evaluate your perspective and develop sympathy for those who may have fallen prey to corruption or other vices.
